On the 1st of June, in honor of International Children’s Day, I ran a special and posted only children-related news here on FindMySoft. One article I ran that day was entitled Lifesaving Skills to Teach Children and as part of that article I said it’s a good idea to teach your children CPR. 9-year-old Tristan Saghin proved this when he performed CPR and saved hi 2-year-old sister Brooke from drowning.
Today I am happy to report that there’s an app out there that has been designed with one very specific goal in mind: to help you learn to perform CPR correctly. The app I am talking about is the aptly named PocketCPR.
Want detailed instructions on how to perform CPR? This app has it. It provides you with detailed, step-by-step visual and audio instructions on how to perform CPR. They say that knowledge is power. Well, with the knowledge this app has to offer, you may very well have the power to save someone’s life.
Want feedback if you’re doing CPR right? This app can offer it to you. The part about offering instructions on how to perform CPR is simple, you may think right about now, but how does it tell you if you’re doing it right? The app uses the iPhone’s built-in accelerometer to assess if you’re doing it wrong or right. It will tell you when you’re doing things right or wrong by using visual and audio notifications.
Think about this way: when something wrong will happen, and chances are that they will, would you rather be prepared to deal with the situation, or would you rather be taken by surprise and not know what to do? If someone in your family or a friend is the victim of a sudden cardiac arrest, it pays to know how to perform CPR. For every minute that passes without receiving CPR, the victim’s chances of surviving drop by CPR. If you know how to perform CPR you can intervene and you can potentially save your family member’s or friend’s life.
